He earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minor in Information Technology\, and furthered his education by earning his Master's degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University.\n\n \n\nJeff and his wife\, Helen\, reside in Newark where he began his term as the 68th Mayor of Newark on January 1\, 2012\, following two years as the City's Treasurer. Their 19 year old son\, Philip\, is currently attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point\, New York. After a successful re-election\, Jeff is in his 2nd term as Mayor. Prior to being an elected official\, he worked for a large public accounting firm in Columbus.\n\n \n\nIn addition to maintaining his duties as Mayor\, Jeff is very active in the local community serving on several boards and committees as an active volunteer.
