We are looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver to join our team as a low voltage field technician. You will be installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining a range of alarm, access control and camera systems (CCTV), analyzing blueprints and plans, and finding and repairing any malfunctions.
To ensure success as an alarm technician, you should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of safety codes and regulations, and experience with a variety of alarm, access, and camera systems.
Field Technician Responsibilities:
• Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
• Installing, programming, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CCTV, alarm, access control equipment.
• Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
• Troubleshooting security equipment issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Completing all assignments.
• Performing inspections and diagnosing any problems.
• Travelling to customer locations.
• Reading, understanding, and following product installation manuals.
• Reading technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Educating customers on care and maintenance.
• Testing all features and equipment to ensure optimum functioning.
• Build pathways according to code
• Structured cabling terminations
Field Technician Requirements:
• Preferred Minimum of 1 year experience working as a field technician for Low Voltage security systems in Burglary, Fire, CCTV and Access Control.
• Must possess the ability to work in confined spaces
• Must possess the ability to comfortably use/climb ladders/lift equipment
• Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements
• Must be able to travel within local service areas and/or regional areas as needed
• Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s)
• Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)
• Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s)
• Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
• Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, able to help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s)
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and present a high level of organization
• Tech Savvy and comfortable using laptop computers, low voltage testing equipment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detailed Oriented with problem solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently or with little supervision.
• Must complete a State/Federal background WebCheck.
• Complete a Drug Screening
• Possess a Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A willingness to work after hours and occasionally on weekends when necessary to meet project deadlines.
• A willingness to work on projects in the surrounding states, mainly in WV, Western PA.
