Position Overview:

C-TEC’s Secondary Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Cosmetology Aide to assist in our high school Cosmetology program. The candidate will support instructors by monitoring and guiding students as they develop technical skills in hair, skin, and nail services in a professional lab setting. This individual will play an important role in maintaining a safe, organized, and positive learning environment aligned with industry standards.

Location: C-TEC Secondary Center
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (up to 28 hours per week during the high school year)
Reports To: Cosmetology Instructor / Program Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor high school students during hands-on Cosmetology lab activities.
• Provide feedback and guidance to help students refine their technical skills in hair cutting, styling, coloring, skincare, nails, and makeup.
• Promote professional practices and reinforce safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment.
• Record and report accurate student attendance and grading data as directed by the instructor.
• Collaborate with Cosmetology instructors and school administrators to ensure student progress and program success.
• Support day-to-day lab operations and preparation of materials and supplies.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current Ohio Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Must be able to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current cosmetology techniques and trends.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to positively engage high school students.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to student success.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a salon, spa, or cosmetology instructional setting.
• Experience supporting or instructing students in a career-technical environment.
