PostSecondary Center/Cyber Security Instructor
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Cyber Security Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging and practical instruction in C-TEC’s Postsecondary Cyber Security program. This instructor will teach fundamental through advanced cybersecurity skills, prepare students for industry certifications, and help them develop the technical and professional competencies required for success in the information security field.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on, competency-based instruction aligned with the approved C-TEC Cyber Security curriculum.
- Teach a range of cybersecurity topics including network security, ethical hacking, system hardening, risk management, and incident response.
- Prepare students for certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CYSA+, Cisco CCNA, and other relevant credentials.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Integrate current industry practices, tools, and technologies into classroom and lab instruction.
- Participate in staff meetings, advisory board sessions, and professional development activities.
- Ensure lab safety and proper use of instructional equipment.
- Associate degree or higher in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (5) years of professional experience in cybersecurity, IT systems administration, or network management.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CYSA+, CEH, or CCNA (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively engage and instruct adult learners.
- Teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
