We also cover professional dues. While we have three offices, this full-time position will be in our Columbus, Ohio, office.

General work requirements: Communicate with all offices and field personnel as well as clients and contractors. Prepare survey drawings, plats, exhibits, and easements using AutoCAD. Download and manipulate field data, specifically field-to-finish data and surface generation. This position requires field experience and understanding of construction layout, boundary surveys, and topographical mapping. The Survey Manager should have a thorough understanding of conventional total stations, robotic and GPS equipment, and data collectors.

Position includes preparation of topographic mapping, ALTA and boundary surveys, plats, easements, construction staking, research, and various other department tasks. A major component of this position includes scheduling of survey crews, technical support, and data preparation for survey crews.    Uploading and downloading of data collectors is required. The Survey Manager must have experience with and an understanding of State of Ohio and local authority requirements and must have a current Ohio Professional Surveyor’s license.

Duties include:

  • 1.   Scheduling of survey crews - maintain and update the daily survey schedule for field crews and office staff so it’s readily accessible to project managers and other staff either by Outlook or other means; Coordinate with manager of construction staking for assignment of survey staff to construction staking projects.
Duties Include:
  •  Provide direct oversight and management of the survey field and office staff, except for director of construction layout.
  •  Prepare job cost estimates for topo surveys, ALTA surveys, and boundary surveys (all survey work EXCEPT construction layout staking).
  •  Scheduling of office staff - maintain schedule of survey office work and distribute work to survey office staff.
  •  Provide Quality Control/Quality Assurance tasks for the surveys including boundary, topographic, utility, and ALTA surveys.
  •  Maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships with clients who require surveying services.
  • Qualifications include: Professional registration in Ohio, experience managing a survey crew, valid driver’s license. UAV pilot certification and 3-D terrestrial mapping experience are a plus.
