Postsecondary Center/Testing Officer
Position: Assessment & Testing Services Officer
Reports To: Assistant Director
Employment Status: 260-day contract, certified, benefits

Description: The Assessment and Testing Services officer is responsible for coordinating all activities and services of the department. He/she provides assessment services for businesses and the public. Supervises career advising staff, supervises testing staff and works with Director, Assistant Director, and Coordinators to assist in meeting the needs of the district and business community. He/she manages the testing center.
Essential Functions: (other duties may be assigned)
- Administers tests; supervises testing center staff.
- Develop short- and long-term goals for the department.
- Responsible for meeting test security requirements.
- Purchases testing resources & equipment; contracts for annual testing services.
- Connects with Business and Industry to contract for testing services and provides services for businesses on site when applicable.
- Responsible for physical layout of assessment center.
- Keeps up to date on assessment theory and resources; makes recommendations; adheres to professional standards, including licensure and certification.
- Responsible for the department budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent/Director/Assistant Director of C-TTC.

Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Some direct experience with business and industry preferred
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar role preferred
General Knowledge and Skills:
- General knowledge of the Ohio Department of Higher Education regulations.
- General knowledge of Educational Systems.
- General knowledge of computer applications.
- Written communication skills.
- Leadership skills.
- Marketing strategies.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with accuracy
- Ability to effectively speak and present information to students, staff, administrators, Board of Education, parents, and public groups
- Ability to write speeches and/or articles for publication
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to accurately perform financial aid related calculations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages,
- Ability to calculate percent discounts or markups comparing costs to determine which is best deal
- Ability to complete a balance sheet, purchase order, or other form that requires several math operations
- Ability to calculate multiple rates or to solve problems that compare productivity rates and pricing schemes
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively bring those conclusions into the realm of practical application.
