CUSTODIAN
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
- Experience in custodial and maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- A proficiency in general repair, painting, cleaning and operating cleaning equipment.
- A working knowledge of heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems.
- A neat appearance.
- An ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
- Successfully complete and pass a BCII and FBI check.
REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Director of Maintenance and Facilities / Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct an on-going program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair.
- Responsible for all maintenance and repair work while maintaining a high standard of safety.
- Maintain on a regular schedule all motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing.
- Keep all floors and corridors in a clean and attractive condition.
- Maintain an inventory and recommend the purchase of supplies, tools and equipment to the Director of Maintenance Services.
- Seasonal duties such as snow removal, shovel, salt, weed eat and mow as needed.
- Strive constantly to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and staff.
- Scrub, mop and disinfect restroom and cafeteria area floors daily.
- Establish schedules for routine safety inspections of playground equipment, bleachers, steps, halls, handrails and all parts of the building and grounds.
- Keep Principal and Director of Maintenance Services informed of all maintenance concerns.
- Clean sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
- Check routinely for events scheduled for the building.
- Any other duties as assigned by the building Principal or Director of Maintenance Services.
- 8 hours daily excluding lunch break
- 260 day contract
- Start date – July 1, 2025
- Salary as per negotiated agreement (LACE)
