The OSU/COTC Newark Campus is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Temporary Grounds Keeper. Under the general direction of a supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all outdoor grounds and landscaped areas on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, and mulching.

• Maintain walkways, parking lots, and outdoor common areas, ensuring they are clean and safe.

• Assist with seasonal landscaping work such as planting, pruning, and leaf removal.

• Operate and maintain outdoor equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).

• Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or equipment issues to supervisor.

• Support event setup and cleanup as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.

• Physical ability to perform outdoor manual labor in various weather conditions.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to safety.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends may be necessary based on campus needs or special events.

Compensation:
Hiring range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
