ANTICIPATED SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Anticipated District Psychologist
Lakewood Local School District
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio School Psychologist license issued by the Ohio Board of Psychology.
- Knowledge and experience in student testing, measurement and interpretation.
- Working knowledge of the MTSS model of intervention.
- Successfully complete and pass a BCII and FBI check.
The psychologist provides diagnosis and assists in the recommendation of appropriate
intervention for students of the district with input from all parties involved in the IEP, ETR
and MTSS process.
Reports to/Evaluated by: In the performance of duties, the District Psychologist shall be directly responsible to the Special Programs Director and indirectly to other administrative staff.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of appropriate diagnostic instruments.
- Develops goals and objectives utilizing diagnostic information.
- Selects tests appropriate to the reason for the referral.
- Follows standardization in administration of tests.
- Scores tests accurately and according to standardization.
- Integrates all pertinent information and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Writes clear, concise and grammatically correct psychological reports.
- Interprets test results clearly to the appropriate staff and parents and provides follow-up when necessary.
- Establishes criteria and goals for student counseling sessions and maintains required records.
- Serves as a consultant to school personnel, parents, and other professionals.
- Provides crisis intervention services.
- Keeps appropriate records (conference notes, counseling logs, etc.).
- Follows state and federal regulations including all requirements of due process.
- Is cognizant of and adheres to Lakewood Local School District procedures and Board policies.
- Assist staff in implementing or modifying instructional strategies, classroom management procedures, intervention strategies, and follow-up activities.
- Participate as a member of ETR, IEP and MTSS team and contribute to the written report of that team regarding the student’s individual strengths and weaknesses.
- Any related/reasonable duties as assigned by the Special Programs Director or Superintendent.
- 203 Contract Days
- Salary per exempt employee salary schedule.
