Career Development (Admissions) Coordinator
The Career Development Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing a K-12 career development program in Licking County. He/she is intricately involved with activities and processes for recruitment and retention at the secondary level. A component of this is the application process for the secondary center. The coordinator will be an on-site reference for career-technical program information and a resource for CTE initiatives in the comprehensive school districts. This work will require the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with associate school staff and regional business and industry partners, in all employment sectors. The coordinator must have a deep understanding of all ODE graduation requirements and will work closely with other department members to organize and oversee events and activities. He/she supervises staff, maintains all department records and budgets.
Essential Functions: (other duties may be assigned)
- Serve as a role model for students and staff nurturing a school climate that promotes good citizenship through self-discipline, self-direction, and cooperative participation.
- Develop and lead Career Counseling incentives in Licking County.
- Manage and maintain an application process that supports current laws and regulations.
- Develop positive school and community relations and promote career and technical education in an effective manner.
- Organize databases within the department in order to keep current and past statistics available at all times
- Travel between associate school districts and business and industry partners, etc.
- Coordinate activities between the school district and outside agencies
- Help collect and analyze data with regard to student interest and workforce demands in an effort to keep up trends and enrollment for the district.

- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., application information, student IEP's, testing information, student and staff information.
- Establishing and implementing work-based educational options for students, including but not limited to business and industry tours, internships, site visits, and other experiences as appropriate.
- Stay up to date with ODE graduation requirements and upcoming changes.
- Coordinate and implement recruitment and acceptance events in collaboration with other department members.
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate and timely manner including with colleagues, students, parents, associate school personnel and business and industry partners.
- Attend meetings and in-services as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors, Superintendent or designee
