Plant Manager

THK Manufacturing of America is currently looking for a Plant Manager to manage the operations of our Transportation Division (Linkball). This position is responsible for the operation and managerial supervision of related personnel and matters to produce THK’s high quality link ball precision products. The Plant Manager is responsible to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.
 
Major Responsibilities
Support all company policies and procedures; Plan, organize, direct and run optimum on time day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations. Fulfill legal responsibilities.
 
Oversee the working environment, free of excess, waste and inconsistencies, to ensure safety of each member and efficiency of production. Drive plant improvement and involve everyone in continuous flow of automated automotive manufacturing processes. Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
 
Evaluate and manage supervisors, approve work schedules or overtime, etc. Approve operation sheets, standards, and process conditions. Establish standard times and gives instructions. When necessary makes plans for hiring. Creates and executes training plans for supervisors. Records executed training on skill maps.
 
Attain full comprehension of equipment rates, increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards, develop plans for and monitor results of updating and introduction of the equipment. When necessary, make arrangements for ordering consumable replacements.
 
Examine ways to make the operations even safer and more accurate, and implement those ideas.
 
Analyzes the causes of defects and executes countermeasures to prevent their recurrence.
 
Relays all necessary issues to the President/Production Coordinator in a timely manner. Conveys all necessary information and conditions to the supervisor(s) and related personnel.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing projects, implementing new technologies, or overseeing facility upgrades.
  • Skills in managing budgets, controlling costs, and analyzing financial performance.
  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and understanding customer requirements.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, manage conflicts, and drive performance.
  • Experience in managing projects, implementing new technologies, or overseeing facility upgrades.
  • Knowledge of  lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Machining and managerial experience preferred with familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise, be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes, computer literacy and ability to crease accountability and to lead by example.
 
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or higher; vocational school or equivalent experience preferred.  Those who have had managerial training preferred.
