Community & Trade Marketing Manager
Objective: Execute marketing and communication plans, managing brand voice and public image, and foster community relationships and strategic partnerships to advance our products, overall company brand, and our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Overseeing digital, radio and print communications, managing social media and public relations, and organizing events to engage stakeholders and build community and brand awareness. This role requires a combination of planning, organizing and executing trade marketing initiatives (events, activations, etc.), and interpersonal skills to build and maintain a positive relationship between the company, retail partners, and the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning: Develop and implement annual marketing, communications, and community engagement plans that align with annual business plans. Responsible for all pertinent data relevant to marketing for supplier meetings.
- Content and Brand Management: Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, including digital, billboard, radio, print, and social media, etc. and in compliance with laws and regulations for beer distributors. Manage marketing and promotional initiatives on our e-Commerce platforms. Work with Sales Leadership on marketing spend/cents per case (CPC) requirements. Review and execute all media contracts. Ensure all advertising coordinates with Suppliers initiatives.
- Community Relations: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, local governments, organizations, and leaders to support outreach and engagement initiatives. Serve on boards of nonprofit and/or civic organizations as a representative of our company.
- Public Relations and Media: Serve as the primary media liaison, manage public relations efforts, and act as a spokesperson for the company, in conjunction with the owners.
- Sponsorship & Event Management: Lead our efforts in sponsorships within the community. Plan and execute both internal and external events to increase community engagement and participation. Coordinate on-premise activations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales and leadership, to develop effective strategies and make high-level decisions.
- CSR: Ethically and positively impact our communities, focusing on responsible drinking, environmental stewardship, and community support.
- All other duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate, bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Significant experience in marketing, communications, and public relations, with a strong emphasis on both digital and community engagement.
- Proven ability to implement successful marketing strategies and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Proven ability to adhere to parameters set forth in contracts and agreements.
- Proven ability to plan and coordinate special events and to work closely with associates to actively participate and represent the company.
- Working knowledge of liquor licensing and the appropriate license customers may need to obtain from the State of Ohio.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
- Experience with marketing and design software.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, defined as having no more than two (2) moving violations or two (2) accidents or a distracted driving violation in the past three (3) years or no major violations in past 4 years
Responsibility for Public Contact
Frequent contact in-person, via phone. Email and social media with Supplier representatives, Legislatures, customers and associates requiring courtesy and professionalism

Physical Demands
Work is performed primarily in an office setting, although market visits will also be required. In addition, this position will require travel by auto and/or airplane to attend meetings. This position requires sight, hearing, speech, hand and finger dexterity. Occasionally it requires lifting items generally weighing less than 20 pounds. It also entails standing for long periods of time, and walking.
