ITEC Job Coach / Educational Aide
C-TEC Secondary Center is seeking a dedicated and professional ITEC Job Coach / Educational Aide to support our Individualized Transition Education to Careers (ITEC) program. Working under the direction of the ITEC Program Instructor, you will assist students identified with special education needs in developing employability, workplace readiness, and independence. This role blends hands-on community instruction with classroom support. You will transport small groups of students to community-based work experiences, provide on-site coaching, and monitor performance, all while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment that fosters academic, behavioral, and social growth.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Job Coaching & Supervision: Accompany and supervise students at community job sites. Provide direct instruction to help students master job-specific skills and workplace readiness habits.
- Student Transportation: Safely drive small groups of students to and from assigned community-based work sites using district vehicles.
- Instructional Support: Collaborate with the ITEC Instructor to reinforce lessons, assist with activities, and implement skill-building opportunities within the classroom and throughout the C-TEC building.
- IEP & Progress Monitoring: Support individual student growth across academic, behavioral, social, and vocational goals as outlined in their IEPs. Observe and document student performance and behavioral progress.
- Community & Stakeholder Relations: Serve as a positive professional representative of C-TEC and the ITEC program, fostering strong relationships with students, families, local business partners, and community stakeholders.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe environment across all training settings in strict compliance with district policies and Ohio educational aide laws.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensure/Certification: Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit.
- Driver's License: Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record eligible for insurable student transport. Must attend and pass van certification for student transportation.
- Experience: Experience working with individuals with special educational needs, youth mentorship, or vocational training is highly preferred.
