IT Technician

THK Manufacturing of America is currently looking for a skilled IT Technician to support our manufacturing operations by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software components. You will install and configure computer hardware and provide IT/server/network support for the organization. You will routinely interact with various departments and levels and listen to their technical needs and implement IT solutions to resolve. An ideal candidate will be hard-working and dedicated, have an associate degree in computer science. You must have experience in troubleshooting systems and be skilled in database and software installation. You will be proficient with Microsoft OS/network architecture/server virtualization and be familiar with a range of software with hardware. You must have a willingness to work off shifts as needed to handle production requirements for the company’s daily work.
 
Major Responsibilities
  • Install and configure hardware and software components
  • Repair or replace damaged hardware
  • Upgrade systems to enable compatible software
  • Install and upgrade antivirus software
  • Manage and monitor network and servers
  • Perform tests on new hardware and software
  • Define software, hardware, and network requirements
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software/network/server issues
 
In-house Software Development: Operates and monitors current software, implementation and installation of future systems, including information and communications systems. Assist database and User ID management.
 
User Support: Assist members with technical support issues and questions. Review source documents for data input. Checks accuracy and relevance of input and output data by visual examination, correcting codes and batching for computer processing. Verifies output against control totals, reviews format and accuracy of printouts and distributes information to appropriate departments. Operates a data entry device to key and/or verify a variety of standard and/or complex coded or uncoded business and statistical source data into a computer.
 
Computer Systems Administration: Assist in the creation and updating of operation manuals in English for the computer system and make plans for the facilitation of systems administration. Distribute manual copies to necessary personnel and maintain a current record of their distribution.
 
Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting information system and related operation issues.
 
Reporting and Records: Communicate via progress reports, job and error logs to management, pass pertinent information on to all related personnel, generate/implement preventative maintenance procedures on communication and information systems equipment. Independently prepare non-routine letters and/or reports, which may be highly sensitive and confidential in nature.
 
Training: As assigned, give instructions or training to other members.
 
Special Projects: coordinate and complete special projects, as appropriate. Perform research and analysis on specific issues, as required.
 
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Confidentiality: Must maintain the utmost confidentiality with company sensitive information.
 
Background Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Microsoft OS, Hyper V Virtualization, Networking architecture
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiar with a range of software and hardware
 
Education:
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or related field, preferred or equivalent experience
 
Experience:
  • Experience troubleshooting systems
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
