Position: Ditch Mower

Agency: Engineer’s Office/Highway Department

Minimum Qualifications:
One to three years of experience performing semi-skilled labor, or any equivalent combination of education,
training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this
position. Experience operating a tractor equipped with a side-boom mower is preferred but not required.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
18 years of age and must have a Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Safe driving record.
Hours: Full-Time

M-F 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location: Main Garage
Salary: $28.00 per hour

Duties:
• Ability to safely operate a 120-horsepower tractor equipped with a side-boom mower.
• Ability to frequently mount and dismount equipment to pick up or remove debris and other materials along
ditch berms and within ditches.
• Ability to recognize, assess, and avoid hazardous situations.
• Performs routine daily equipment fueling, lubrication, inspections, and basic maintenance.
• Ability to review, prioritize, and complete the daily work assignment throughout the workday.
• Reports significant events, problems, equipment issues, and maintenance needs to the immediate supervisor
in a timely manner.
• Assists other crew members with various work assignments and performs other duties as assigned.
• Operates equipment safely and consistently follows all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures.
