Job Title: Direct Services Coordinator

Job Description:
United Way of Licking County is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Services Coordinator to lead our ID Program and strengthen our homelessness and housing continuum of care in Licking County, as well as be a leader in all program services. This grant-funded position is initially for 1-2 years, with the potential for extension.
The Direct Services Coordinator will work closely with the Community Impact Director and Executive Director, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver impactful services to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity. The role requires strong emotional intelligence, project management skills, and a background in social work, community organizing, healthcare, or public administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ID Program, including research, meeting setups, and grant writing.
  • Assist in convening monthly meetings of partners in the Housing Continuum of Care in Licking County, as well as helping to identify gaps and opportunities to improve services to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity.
  • Manage databases, maintain confidential records, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with community partners, service providers, and stakeholders to build bridges and foster collaboration.
  • Write and manage grants.
  • Recruit, manage, and support volunteers for various program initiatives.
  • Work as a key team player within United Way, directly reporting to the Community Impact Director and working closely with the Volunteer & Outreach Director.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with community organizing or social science facilitation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven experience in grant writing and project management.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to work with a diverse range of people in the community.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with database management and maintaining confidential records.
  • Passion for helping the underserved population and improving community resources.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Same day travel to meetings throughout the county.
