Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.  Familiarity with court system preferred.
Notary public certification (may be obtained during first year of employment)
 
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
Must be organized, dependable and works well with the public.
 
Hours:          Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 7:30 A.M – 4:30 P.M
 
Salary:           $22 - $24 hourly, Commensurate with Experience
 
Duties:

  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Prepares and proofreads legal and administrative documents, correspondence, motions, pleadings, briefs, judgments, and exhibits; organizes, indexes, and files legal and administrative documents; and prepares statistical and administrative reports as requested, in relation to juvenile delinquency and abuse, neglect dependency cases and prosecution.
  • Primary responsibility for the preparation of documents for review by supervising attorney related to juvenile proceedings.
  • Works with the other inter office, clerk of court and, judicial, and support staff on juvenile matters.
  • Primary responsibility for docketing and keeping accurate records of hearings, due dates and other critical time sensitive matters.
  • Communicates with appropriate parties regarding case status.
  • Copies and distributes legal documents and other materials for timely filing with the appropriate court and individuals as may be relevant to juvenile and warrant matters.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
  • Fills in for receptionists and other legal secretaries as necessary.
