PUBLIC ASSISTANCE CASEWORKER
(Eligibility/Referral Specialist 2)

PAY RANGE: $20.93 ‐ $28.43 per hour (placement in pay range is dependent on experience and education)

LOCATION: 74 S. Second St., Newark, Ohio 43055

HOURS: Full‐Time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday

DUTIES:
At Licking County Job & Family Services, we’re here to support children, families, and individuals through public assistance, workforce development, and protective services. We are looking for Public Assistance Caseworkers who bring compassion, patience, and a desire to serve. In this role, you’ll help community members in need access essential programs like SNAP/Food Assistance, Medicaid, TANF, and Ohio Works First. You’ll guide individuals and families through the application process, explain their options, and help ensure they receive the support they qualify for.

You’ll spend your days:

• Talking with community members by phone, face-to-face, and through our shared services call center
• Learning their stories, gathering information, and determining eligibility using the Ohio Benefits system
• Preparing notices, processing forms, and helping people understand their rights and responsibilities
• Connecting individuals with additional community resources when needed
• Working alongside a supportive team that’s committed to serving the community

Preferred Qualifications
An associate degree in human services, business, accounting, or a related field and one (1) year of experience working with the public is ideal. Strong computer skills are important. Equivalent education and experience may also be considered.
